Sclerosing hemangioma of the lung: report of a case.

چکیده
Sclerosing hemangioma of the lung is extremely rare. Herein, a case of sclerosing hemangioma of the lung in a 44-year-old woman is reported. On admission, the patient complained of pain in the left lower neck and upper chest. Chest x-ray revealed a mass in lingular lobe of the left lung. The patient underwent surgery and a mass was removed through left posterolateral thoracotomy. Pathologic findings confirmed sclerosing hemangioma. Sclerosing hemangioma of the lung should be considered in asymptomatic patients or those with symptoms in chest or lower neck. Iran J Med Sci 2003; 28 (3):151-153.

متن کاملMR Findings of Sclerosing Hemangioma ofthe Lung : A Case Report
This report describes a sclerosing hemangioma of the lung evaluated by MRI. The mass demonstrated hyperintense signal on T1-weighted, proton density, and T2-weighted spin-echo images. Contrast-enhanced T1-weighted imagesshowed marked, homogeneous enhancement of the mass. The MR appearance is not specific for sclerosing hemangioma of the lung, as other benign tumors can appear similarly. However...
متن کاملIncidental finding of a sclerosing hemangioma in a Caucasian woman.
Sclerosing hemangioma of the lung is a rare and mostly benign lung tumor, which affects especially Asian middle-age women (median age of 48 years). We report the case of a 27-year-old woman in which, a premarital routine chest X-ray investigation revealed a 2 cm well-defined opaque nodule in the lower left pulmonary lobe, confirmed by CT scan. Microscopically, the surgically enucleoresected nod...
متن کامل[Pulmonary sclerosing hemangioma in a patient with Cowden syndrome].
We describe the case of an 18-year-old female with Cowden syndrome in whom a simple x-ray detected a solitary pulmonary nodule that was identified as a sclerosing hemangioma. Pulmonary sclerosing hemangioma is an unusual lung neoplasm which typically presents as a solitary peripheral nodule in asymptomatic women. Although the histology of this entity is well defined, its origin and treatment is...
متن کاملPulmonary Sclerosing Hemangioma Detected by Fluorodeoxyglucose Positron Emission Tomography in Familial Adenomatous Polyposis: Report of a Case
We present a 53-year-old female suffering from familial adenomatous polyposis, who was found to have a positive nodus, lateral to the hilus of the left lung, on routine FDG-PET scan. This lesion was found to be a sclerosing hemangioma. We found an aberrant beta-catenin expression on immunohistochemical staining, suggesting that sclerosing hemangioma and familial adenomatous polyposis share the ...
